Delete Your Account & Data

Effective date: 18 June 2026  ·  Last updated: 30 August 2026

Summary: You can ask us to delete your HandyTrack account and the personal data associated with it at any time. This page explains how to request deletion, what data is removed, and what we are legally required to keep.

HandyTrack is operated by Terracode Limited, registered in England and Wales. This page applies to all HandyTrack accounts — tradespeople, homeowners, company customers, and team members.

1. How to Request Deletion

Fastest: delete your account in the app

You can delete your account directly in the HandyTrack app, without contacting us:

In-app deletion starts immediately: your account is closed straight away and the associated data is removed from our systems and backups within 30 days, as described below.

By email

If you no longer have the app installed, or prefer not to use it, email us from the email address registered to your HandyTrack account:

Please send the request from the email address associated with the account you want deleted so we can verify your identity. If you cannot email from that address, include enough detail (registered name, business name, and account email) for us to locate and verify the account.

We will confirm receipt and may ask you to verify your identity before processing the request, to protect your account against unauthorised deletion.

2. What Gets Deleted

Once your deletion request is verified, we permanently delete the personal data we hold for your account, including:

3. What We Keep, and for How Long

Some records must be retained after account deletion to meet legal and tax obligations. We keep only what we are required to, and we delete everything else.

Data TypeRetention PeriodReason
Account, profile, customer, photo, voice and message data Deleted within 30 days of a verified request No longer needed once the account is closed
Financial records (issued invoices and completed quotes) Retained for 7 years after the relevant financial year end UK tax / HMRC record-keeping requirements
Backup copies Purged within 30 days of deletion Backups roll over and are not used to restore deleted accounts

Retained financial records are kept solely for legal compliance, are access-restricted, and are not used for any other purpose. They are deleted once the statutory retention period expires.

Deletion is permanent. Once your account is deleted it cannot be recovered, and you will lose access to all jobs, quotes, invoices, customers, photos, and other data stored in your account. Export anything you want to keep before requesting deletion.

4. How Long It Takes

We aim to acknowledge deletion requests within 5 business days and to complete verified deletions within 30 days, in line with our Privacy Policy and your rights under UK GDPR.

5. Your Customers' Data

If you are a tradesperson, you act as the data controller for the customer records you store in HandyTrack. Deleting your account also deletes those customer records from our systems (subject to the financial-record retention above). You remain responsible for any copies you hold outside HandyTrack.
